The trial of Degi Dudayev, the son of former Chechen separatist
leader Johar Dudayev, started in Kaunas, Lithuania. .. 30-year-old

Police discovered he had seven fake Lithuanian passports. Shortly
thereafter, several of his associates were detained in Kaunas. ..
The mother of the accused, Alla Dudayev, commenting in his 2011
arrest, called it "a continuation of the campaign to discredit the
name of Johar and his family."
The family settled in Lithuania after Dudayev's death. Local
authorities named a square in Vilnius in honor of the leader of the
separatists, and placed a memorial stone there.
